REVEALING SECRETS

FLUFF

Seeing Natalie brought back so many memories, but I didn’t feel anything for her. That was how I knew I was over her. When I heard she was still with the dude, it did absolutely nothing to me. I was going to tell Wynter about the situation, but Natalie knocked on the door before I had time to.

We were already in conversation about her life, so that was why I also didn’t tell her. I did still have a place in my heart for Charisma. That was the only reason I was paying the money. Well, they think I am paying the money, anyway.

I was going to pretend to deliver the money, but I was going to kill those niggas once I got there.

“You know what, Fluff, I am just going to stay here if it’s alright with you? As a matter of fact, can you just drop me off at my house?”

I gave her a stern look. I didn’t know why she thought I was playing with her. She was moving in with me. “Drop you off, huh?”

“Yes,” she said with a smile upon her face. I could tell she thought about how I had said it. “Once you are done, you can come back and get me. This is y’all thang, and I don’t want to overstep my boundaries.”

“You ain’t overstepping a muthafucking thing. I don’t want to do anything behind your back. I really was going to tell you; we just didn’t get a chance to get to it because she knocked on the door. I am going to holla at the doorman about that shit, too.”

“I believe you. I ain’t worried about all of that. Trust me, I will be ready once you come back and get me. I just have a few things I need to do around the house.”

“Alright, that’s cool. I am telling you, though, don’t be playing because, if I have to carry you over my shoulder, you coming back with me.” She grabbed her purse and followed me out the door. I made a mental note about her purse, too. I was getting her a new one for Christmas.

When we got in the lobby, I looked around for Franklin, the doorman. He was talking to Juniper, the front desk attendant.

“Yo, Franklin, let me holla at you. Today, I had an unwanted visitor knock at my door. I ain’t asking you how she got up there, but I am telling you, don’t let it happen again. You see this lady right here?” I pointed at Wynter as he shook his head yes. “This is the only lady—as a matter of fact—the only person you let up to my crib. Do I make myself clear?” He shook his head up and down, stating he understood.

“I apologize, young man. I didn’t know. I just knew she used to stay here, so I figured it was alright. Did you ever get your key fob back from her?”

“My what?”

“Your key fob. I mean, how else could she have gotten on the elevator?” I slapped the palm of my hand against my forehead.
